Free legal aid is a fundamental right under Article 39A. Every Indian citizen below the income threshold is entitled to legal representation at no cost.

Income limit for free legal aid: Annual income ≤ ₹1 lakh (Supreme Court), ≤ ₹75,000 (High Court), ≤ ₹50,000 (District Court). SC/ST, women, children, and persons with disability qualify regardless of income.
